Description

This was taken as part of a shoot we did at the Ottawa Tulip Festival :) For those who don't know what it is, can check out the site: [link] or see description at the bottom of this <3

Since the Netherlands is known for Tulips and we couldn't just you know, go to Holland and do a shoot (though omg we want to), we thought it would be an amazing place to do a chibi BeNe shoot <3 We really love how the colours turned out, and how they matched our bows on our dresses. We hope you like the picture <3

Basically it is a festival to celebrate the Dutch and Canadian relations. In 1945, the Dutch royal family sent 100,000 tulip bulbs to Ottawa in gratitude for Canadians having sheltered Princess Juliana and her daughters for the preceding three years during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, in the Second World War. During time in Canada in 1943 of Princess Margriet was born at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. The maternity ward was declared to be officially a temporary part of international territory, so that she would be born in no country and would inherit only her Dutch citizenship from her mother. In 1946, Juliana sent another 20,500 bulbs requesting that a display be created for the hospital, and promised to send 10,000 more bulbs each year. So every year Ottawa is filled with thousands of Tulips all over the city that we receive as a present from the Dutch. <3 It's very beautiful

That's a pretty cool story. Nothings happens in the city I live in. >3< just an old Mexican farming town- turned modern-ish SoCal suburb. I think Albert Einstein PASSED through it. Emphasis on PASSED: he didn't even stop. Anyway, cute pic!
