APH- Reflected Youth

This is my entry to the Water contest. This was taken especially for this contest, though we might put up a few pictures from the same shoot later ♥

Inspiration:
~ClementineErased and I sat down for a bit and tried to think of what would work best for the theme of this contest. Water. The first thing that both of us seemed to think of was the canals that run through Amsterdam. The flowing water, the bridges, and just the feeling that it gives to the capital city... It is what we really thought of when we thought about water and the Netherlands.

Design and Cosplay
The cosplays we are wearing are of our own "design". They are chibi versions of the Netherlands and Belgium. They were modeled after the outfits that Alfred and Matthew wear as children, but then modified after looking at books on Dutch traditional children's clothing. The outfits were entirely hand made by *XNeverConformX Both consist of a small dress that is fitted at the chest and poofed at the sleeves and 'skirt'. They differ in the colours of their bows, and in that Belgium's has a small petticoat underneath her dress, and Netherlands has a pair of long bloomers.

The Theme
The idea that we were attempting to play off of for the theme of the contest was innocence and memories. The idea of the blue waters going through the canals, through the very heart of the capital city seemed to pure and beautiful. We wanted to play off that purity and innocence by combining it with the Netherlands in his youth. The white outfits, and the bright water of the canals was to try and capture a time when he was before war, trade and conflict.

We hope you like our entry, our cosplays and our photo. We had a lot of fun figuring out a good way to take the photos, and got lots of fun stares around the canal.
